have to keep at that one. I think that McLuhan 
opened up our eyes to so many other dimensions 
of power. And I don’t think he can be thrown out 
on that account as many tend to do. However, I 
also think that one needs to look at institutional 
and organizational structures in order to arrive at 
a more comprehensive kind of analysis.


Q:  You’ve studied McLuhan and his 
contemporaries. Can you tell us a little about what 
has been called the Canadian school of 
communications?
